Socialists Sweep the Nation

Time after time socialism is continuosly scrutinized here in the United States. Even though we've known its popularity for decades now, how concepts that have been pushed by the "radical left" aka democratic-socialists have been radically popular. Ideas like universal healthcare, taxing the rich, rent freezes, public housing, and cutting ties to the State of Israel have been proposed time after time in Congress, in government, but are constantly rejected by those in power, even when the concepts are brilliantly supported. To further note, the Pew Research Center has shown 66% of Americans believe it is the government's job to pay for healthcare.
So finally, after decades of failure, decades of standstill in governance, ignoring change. The people have put it upon ourselves to force the government to change. We do this by elected members of Congress, mayors, city councillors, county commisionars, or locals representatives that actually hold the government and corporations accountable for their actions and behaviour. And that means electing socialists to office.
In 2025, New York City, elected Zohran Mamdani, a democratic-socialist with ties to the DSA (Democratic-Socialists of America) as their mayor. His influence and his victory has placed hope and will into other Americans, other people across this country who seek change. Earlier in June, three Mamdani endorsed candidates won their primaries, two of which unseated incumbents, which is hard thing to do in the United States. And just the other day, on June 30th, Melat Kiros, a democratic-socialist from Denver, unseated the city's 30-year incumbent representative, Diana DeGette.
These elections have sent a message to the Democratic and Republican establishment, a message they are scared of, that the people are tired of the stagnant unchanging politics of this country. Tired of "Vote Blue No Matter Who" and tired of being stepped on time and time again in the name of corporations, tradition, the establishment, and Israel. Money and donors need to stop running this country, the people need to start. And the wave of socialists winning elections and unseating incumbents shows that the time is now. That the party of stagnation, the Democratic party, is changing, and its changing to its name, to be, more democratic.
